UTAH STATE ED BOARD MEMBERS SPEAK OUT FOR REF 1
SALT LAKE – Today three members of the Utah State Board of Education
reinforced their full support for Referendum 1.
“We are not about maintaining the system, we are about serving the needs of students,” said board member Richard Moss of Circle Spanish Fork. “We want Utah children to be inspired by their opportunities,” he continued
“We value education, that’s why our tax dollars are allocated to education. The result we desire is educated children. We shouldn’t discriminate against private schools,” said board member Mark Cluff of Alpine.
“Voting ‘Yes’ on Referendum 1 will improve public education through reduced class sizes and cost savings. Low and middle income families will particularly benefit through increased educational opportunities that are not available today,” said Bill Colbert, of Draper.
Interviews with the board members are welcome and available upon request.
